I started to read this book out of a promise from a person who knew the author. The first half of the book made me want to jump through the pages and throttle the "husband" and save the author. I have not been engaged with a book since I read "hunt for Red October". What incredible abuse, what incredible love and determination. The second half of the book is slower paced but by this time, you are engaged with the characters. She went from no money, indoor plumbing, no heat and no love, to a mother and a Duke trained Masters level surgical tech and business owner!!!
This book is a MUST READ! What a true testimony of how God is always in our life answering our prayers, while watching over us. This book truly shows that the power of prayer can change anything. What a great book to use as a bible study, as scripture is placed within every chapter. The author guides you through her entire life with all of the ups and downs and is able to show how God strengthens us. This book will absolutely touch your heart!
Well written. Did have to stop half way through and came back and finished . Started reading on a Monday and finished that Thursday. It brought back some emotions and very bad memories from my own abuse. Some things are very similar. I would encourage anyone to read it. You too can overcome and make a life for yourself.

You will find it hard to put this book down. The author gave me new insight on what a person experiences in trials of poverty and abuse. She experienced events in her life I could have never imagined. In this journey you saw the hand of God delivering her out of every circumstance. I also got to see the faith of a little girl that blossomed into a beautiful woman of God. This book is a beautiful testimony of God's love and faithfulness in the presence of great evil. She praises God as her Deliverer, Healer, Protector and Provider. She testifies to how God used others to provide rescue, love, healing and provision. This is a story of a woman whose light shined so bright even in the face of great obstacles. This book will no doubt bring comfort, healing, hope and deliverance to many. Thank you I. M. Redeemed for sharing your testimony of faith, love and hope. Truly a testimony of Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
